Ethics and Our Transitioning Times
April 16th,
2010
9:00 AM-1:00 PM, 149
Simpson Road, Bar Mills, Maine
$55.00 (4 Contact
Hours)
A half-day
workshop When attempting to explain and
interpret the striking times and cosmic patterns now at
hand, we all struggle. This is especially true among
those of us working in the spiritual arena, who see
triple whammies again and again in the lives of our
clients - clients who want to know what is going on in
their lives as the collective world around us comes
apart at the seams. Can we share, do we share, what we
really feel? Our distinctively modern ethical issues
such as bartering, moral/ cultural relativism,
boundary crossing, and consumption do not always fall
cleanly into ethical guidelines. We are constantly being
challenged and asked to re-define "what is ethical
practice?" In this seminar we will touch
upon:
-
Distinctly modern ethical
issues such as moral/cultural relativism and
consumption can tempt boundary violations and boundary
crossing;
-
Self-disclosure as a
necessary and effective therapeutic tool;
-
Bartering as the way of the
future;
-
Why we
may not be able to avoid the dual relationship;
-
The
complexity of certain ethical decisions: which are
difficult and far from clear-cut and yet present the
need for an ethical understanding which is both humane
and timely; and
-
Ethical
standards as we navigate the transition from the
current way of life to the one that is being imposed
upon
us. |
Reading the
Bones
9:00 AM-1:00 PM, 149
Simpson Road, Bar Mills, Maine
$55.00 (4 Contact
Hours)
Come to the
edge. We might fall.
Come to the
edge It's too high!
COME TO THE
EDGE!
And they
came, and he pushed,
and they
flew.
~ Christopher
Logue, English poet
We are at the
edge. Sometimes all we need is a gentle shove to
help us change direction, see what we have been missing,
or see old things in a new way. When we try to interpret
these striking, often chaotic, times and cosmic patterns
now at hand, we all struggle.
Deep within us we have a connection to the
Divine that transcends our intellectual trappings, our
ego, and our personalities. That connection
instinctively shifts us into the act of looking for and
asking for guidance. In other words, we
unconsciously recognize that there is something greater
than "us."
While there is much we do not know, there
is much we can - with a little foresight -
anticipate. The future foreshadows itself and with
anticipation, we can plan accordingly.
Reading the Bones is about an
ancient way of knowing. It is about slowing down,
looking for signs, trusting in a bigger picture, and
seeing what is (not just what we want to see.)
It is about getting quiet so we can hear the voice
of our spirit.
This 1/2 day experiential workshop will
cover:
-
What "is" our current
reality?
-
What are "modern-day"
bones?
-
What do the bones tell
us?
-
The role of fear
-
Deep relaxation and guided
